🚀🚀Job Mission

As a Head of Accounting, you are part of the Tibber finance team and will be an integral part of helping us build our global finance team. Some of your responsibilities (but not limited to) will include:

Leading the accounting function. You will be responsible for all accounting and reporting under local GAAP and transition to IFRS. You will have in-house Accountants as well as outsourced accounting functions to manage in the different countries and will need to drive priorities and accountability in the accounting function across all countries.

Closing and reporting. You own and drive the group's closing, reporting, and consolidation process, which is not yet solidly established in Tibber. Building a closing process, monitoring the progress of countries, cost centers reporting and special project accounting are all part of this. You own the consolidation process and ensure it gets automated

End-to-end process ownership. You drive the procure to pay, order to cash, and record to report processes to ensure that the finance team understands the process and that accounting is based on proper accrual accounting.

Accounting policies/procedures. You will drive and enhance policies and guidelines for the group and come up with a solid accounting manual that is being applied across all entities during month-end closing. You will initiate and drive the transition towards IFRS accounting from the current Norwegian/Local GAAP accounting.

Statutory reporting. You own all statutory reporting and local audits including the consolidated group audit and ensure reporting of this to the leadership team and board.

Ownership of our accounting systems. The company has started a project to implement a new ERP system, however, large parts of the end-of-end processes are still manual and not linked to our ERP. You need to drive the integration of revenue reporting and procurement into the ERP system. Automation of accounting feed on revenue vs manual entries is a key success factor in this role to enable more reliable and timely closing processes.

Stakeholder management. You will maintain strong communication (in English) with internal stakeholders like the FP&A team, CFO, and CEO. Furthermore, you own all communications with local auditors, group auditors, and local tax authorities (with the support of external tax advisors).

Continuous hands-on training and support. You will be responsible for the daily management and development of your team of accountants and third-party accounting service providers in the markets we operate. You will continue to build out and develop the accounting team as we scale.

⚡⚡️Ideal Profile 

Qualified Accounting experience. Qualified Accountant or equivalent as a degree, ideally with a big 4 background. Proven track record of leading a large accounting function across multiple jurisdictions, ideally far beyond Nordics controller/accounting function but at a global or EU HQ function. Strong understanding of both local GAAP and IFRS accounting.

Business acumen. Several years of hands-on accounting experience (willing to continue working hands-on) as well as being a strong project leader who has seen large company accounting, and consolidation processes and then implemented them themselves in a fast-growing multi-national business.

Process-driven. Solid understanding of core end-to-end accounting processes and ideally have been involved/leading the back-office outsourcing projects or transitioning of accounting function to a more centralized shared service environment (in-house or outsourced)

Accounting tool know-how. Strong knowledge and experience in working with and setting up different accounting and consolidation tools as well as having been in the lead (as group controller/head of accounting) of an ERP implementation. Experience with NetSuite would be beneficial.

Good communication skills. Fluent or native business English (our company language) and any other market language are nice to have (Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch, and/or German).
