About the Job

As a Power Trader, you will execute and develop Tibber’s power trading processes and strategies while increasing efficiency, managing risk and generating revenue.

You will be part of Tibber’s skilled trading team made up of backend developers, data scientists, quantitative analysts and other power traders.

Your responsibilities will be to:

• Continuously develop trading strategies that leverage the uniqueness of Tibber’s portfolio and manage risk accordingly.
• Meticulously plan, build, and maintain strong trading processes that ensure safe operations.
• Develop systems and tools for data-driven decision support.
• Work closely with members of the trading team to integrate statistical analysis and machine learning techniques into Tibber trading activities.
• Strengthen Tibber’s intraday trading activities.
• Analyse power markets and track developments.
• Ensure legal and regulatory compliance for trading operations.
• Be one of the trading operators responsible for physical trades including weekend rotations.

We’re looking for someone with:

• 2+ years experience at a physical trading desk. Intraday experience is highly preferable.
• Understanding of market fundamentals and short term European power markets is a must.
• Experience with algorithmic power trading is a plus.
• Programming and data analysis skills.
• A masters’ degree in Engineering, IT, Economics or Econometrics, etc
• Proven research and analytical skills.
• A strong ability to turn analysis into actionable trading strategies. 
• A drive to be a complete team player who enjoys leveraging the team’s skills in order to strive towards shared goals.
• An analytical, curious, and commercial mindset with meticulous attention to detail.
• A disciplined, patient, and results-oriented work ethic.
• Strong record-keeping and process-oriented practices.
• The desire to work in a dynamic and high paced scale-up environment.
• Humility and an eagerness to continuously learn.
